I’ve got green on the brain today… no idea why, but there you have it. In connection with my green craze today, I’ve been looking up St Patrick’s Day, four leafed clover and Leprechauns. Also on my brain are spinach, Popeye, grass, palm trees, green jelly. This feels like word association… can you think of more things connected to green? Don’t go away yet, this ramble is connected to today’s drawing tutorial. Given that I’m in a green mood today, I wanted draw something green. People wear green on St Patrick’s Day. St Patrick’s Day is an Irish festival. A Leprechaun is an Irish fairy who dresses in green… see where I’m going with this? Yup, today’s green tutorial is on how to draw a Leprechaun. It’s not a real Leprechaun, coz I’ve never seen a real leprechaun before. This is a cartoon leprechaun. If you do see a real leprechaun, remember to catch it and get your 3 wishes! Step 1
We start with circles for the guidelines first, beginning with one for the head as well as circles for the eyes and nose. Keep the lines simple.
Step 2
Colour in your leprechaun with the airbrush tool. This leprechaun is dressed in green and has red hair…typical of all leprechauns.
Step 3
Now carefully trace out the outline with a thick black pencil for a bold cartoony look.
